Nový 40,89 MP, Full Frame Obrazový snímač CMOS bol navrhnutý a vyrobený špeciálne pre model Leica M10-R a jeho použitie s M a R objektívmi.

Vzhľadom k Leica charakteristickým výhodám CCD snímačov, ako napríklad podanie farieb a pôsobivá reprodukcia detailov, boli tieto vlastnosti prevedené do senzora CMOS.

Jednou z najväčších výhod snímača CMOS je jeho funkcia Live View. Záber si teraz môžete pozrieť na LCD obrazovke s 1 036 800 pixelmi. Nový 'Live View Zoom umožňuje až 10 násobné zväčšenie, na presné zaostrenie.
